THE RED WALL
Location
Plateau Mont-Royal
An urban garden in the center of Plateau Mont-Royal, is inspired by the rooms of the neighborhood apartments with a main alley to which the outdoor living rooms are grafted. The main one, the terrace, located near the house, is slightly raised to be at the same level as the threshold of the patio door, which facilitates meals taken outside. Built in cedar wood, there is the BBQ and comfortable chairs to relax. Then, after a step, we find the second room which is for eating in the garden. It is decorated with flower pots and plants to bring a touch of greenery and a triangular canvas for privacy and protection from the sun.
The vegetable garden is in addition to being a practical element by growing your own vegetables and aromatic herbs, serves to separate the dining area from the lounge area which is at the very back of the yard.
The garage wall was incorporated into the garden by covering it with an oxblood red plaster, a shine that adds personality to the urban space.
The cedar wood fence that surrounds the city garden provides protection and a natural aesthetic. Cedar wood is resistant to rot and insects, making it an ideal choice for an outdoor fence. Narrower slats placed judiciously ensure the privacy of the garden from prying eyes, climbing plants, such as vines and clematis, dress the whole thing.
The garden paths, connecting the different parts of the courtyard are made up of large slabs. They provide the link between the rooms of the garden.
