THE STREAM AND THE POND

This contemporary residence is located in the Eastern Townships with a magnificent view of the valley. It is part of a magnificent garden where it is good to meet up with friends and family.

The rectangular swimming pool perpendicular to the residence, makes a breakthrough in the forest, offering an ideal place to cool off and relax during the hot summer days. The pool is surrounded on the side by a limestone terrace, a garden of naturalized plants, a path to the forest or a carpet of thyme.

On the steep facade of the house, a cedar wood terrace allows you to cook and eat, while admiring the view of the valley. Below, a pond lined with shoreline plants is filtered by a stream that winds up the hill. A slate patio with an integrated campfire near the pond is connected to the residence by a staircase built with large stones integrated into the slope. The steps of the staircase are carefully arranged to provide both functionality and a natural aesthetic.

A stream starting its course near the house meanders along the staircase, it serves to filter the water of the pond, it flows harmoniously through cascades into the basin, adding to the beauty of the space a natural and soothing aspect.

The garden is designed to offer a feeling of wild nature. The clumped plantings are arranged and mixed harmoniously. A section of the garden is reserved for growing small fruits and apple trees.
